History

Since its establishment in November 1990, the Road Management Technology Center has established eight branch offices around the country, and is working to increase its staff, and to provide research, development, and direction regarding road management technology.

1990 November Road Management Technology Center established.
Operations begin in Nihonbashi Ningyo-cho, Chuo-ku, Tokyo
1991 June Tohoku Branch opens in Sendai
Chubu Branch opens in Nagoya
1992 May Hokuriku Branch opens in Niigata
Kinki Branch opens in Osaka
Chugoku Branch opens in Hiroshima
Kyushu Branch opens in Fukuoka
1993 March Receives certification for road management technology inspection and verification, through the Examination and Certification of Construction Technologies Developed in the Private Sector program.
  June Shikoku Branch opens in Takamatsu
  August Headquarters moves to Nihonbashi Hisamatsu-cho, Chuo-ku, Tokyo
1994 April Begins System for Asphalt Mixture Certification program
  June Kanto Branch opens in Nihonbashi Hisamatsu-cho, Chuo-ku, Tokyo
1995 February Establishes System for Qualification Tests for Pavement Management Engineers program
1999 January Receives ISO9001 certification
  February Receives permit for reorganization of contribution (move headquarters)
  March Headquarters and Kanto Branch move to Koraku, Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo
  September Based on "Directions for Ensuring the Quality of Public Works", is name to the Noise Reduction Evaluation and Examination of Pavement Performance Committee.
2000 May Kanto Branch moves to Saitama-shi, Saitama-ken
  September Receives permit for reorganization of contribution (change in number of directors, chair, establishment of Road Management Technology Research Center)
2001 January Establishes Road Management Technology Research Center
  January With the termination of the Examination and Certification of Construction Technologies Developed in the Private Sector program, receives certification from the Construction Technology Inspection and Certification Conference private certification program.
2004 April Transitions Road bridge inspection business to the Japan Bridge Engineering Center.
